The Course

The Green Gardeners training program is a six-hour course delivered over two evenings, each a week apart. Two workshops make up each course, and both workshops need to be completed to become an accredited Green Gardener. Each course is modified to ensure it is relevant to local issues related to gardening and the environment. Each workshop is delivered by a different, experienced professional gardener or horticulturalist who has formal trainer qualifications.

The course is interactive with opportunities to discuss issues and share experiences. Participants often state that the Green Gardeners is a unique forum that brings together all members of the gardening and nursery industries.

The Green Gardeners course also discusses strategies for influencing and encouraging clients to choose waterwise and environmentally sustainable gardening products, plants and practices.

At the completion of the Green Gardeners course participants will receive a TAFE Statement of Results, a Green Gardener Certificate of Participation and the opportunity to develop a free business page on the Green Gardeners website. The Green Gardener accreditation is awarded to an individual who then has the opportunity to promote their place of work. Each accredited Green Gardener webpage has the contact details, the name/s of the Green Gardener at the workplace and the speciality of the gardening business.
